Hearing Impairmentthe school for the deaf is started in the year 1986 with 5 children, nine years after establishing the school for the children with mental retardation. The school has classes from primary to 10th class both in Telugu and English medium. So far 1197 students with hearing impairment benefitted out of our services at SSD. The school is equipped with group hearing aid system. The activities and achievements of 2016-17 are briefly narrated.

Dementia:

usually of a chronic progressive disorder due to death of neurons, in which there is disturbance of cortical functions, learning capacity, language, and judgement and interferes with personal activities of daily living, such as washing, dressing, eating, personal hygiene, excretory and toilet activities.

  • Amnesia:
      is other prominent impairment of recent and remote memory. While immediate recall is preserved, the ability to learn new material is markedly reduced.

 

Damageincludes brain dysfunction :

  • Delirium is disturbances of consciousness and attention, perception, thinking, memory, psychomotor behavior.It may occur at any age but is most common after the age of 60 years. The delirious state in most cases recover within 4 weeks or less.
